Students on the M.A. Politics and Democracy Research master’s degree program can attend the lecture “Introduction to Social Psychological Research” offered by the Department of Psychology in the winter semester as part of module 4 “Political Attitudes and Behavior of Citizens”.

(Department of Art History and Musicology, Faculty 07 – History and Cultural Studies)
Students of the Bachelor’s degree program B.A. Art History can attend lectures of the Department of Political Science amounting to a maximum of 6 CHW (max. 9 credit points) as part of the non-art history elective module “Art History Branch and Neighboring Studies and Cultural Studies”. The module examination in this compulsory elective module is taken by the Department of Art History.

(Gutenberg School of Management and Economics, Faculty 03 – Law and Economics)
Students of the M.Sc. in International Economics and Public Policy can take an English-language thematic lecture from the module “International Politics and Specific Policy Fields” (Module 5) of the M.A. in Political and Democratic Research as part of the “free part” of this degree program in the module “International Policy”.

Students of the Master’s program M.A. Politics and Democracy Research can choose a lecture offered by FB 03, Gutenberg School of Management and Economics, from the following list as part of Module 5 “International Politics and Specific Policy Fields” (which lecture is on offer will be indicated in Jogustine in good time):

(Department of Medical Biometry, Epidemiology and Informatics, Faculty 04 – University Medicine)
In the M.Sc. Epidemiology program, the following political science courses can be attended as part of the supplementary module:

  • 1 lecture “Methods of Empirical Political Research” (2 CHW, 2 CP)
  • 1 seminar on the “subject-specific application of research methods”, e.g. survey research (2 CHW, 3 CP)

If the module examination is also to be taken in Political Science, this will take the form of a 15-minute oral examination (1 CP) following the above-mentioned lecture. The contact person for this is Prof. Dr. Sascha Huber.

(Department of Sport Science, Faculty 02 – Social Sciences, Media and Sport)
In the M.Sc. Sport Science – Individual and Social Adaptation degree program, one of the introductory lectures of the Department of Political Science (Political System of the Federal Republic of Germany, Political Theory, Economy and Society, International Relations, Analysis and Comparison of Political Systems) can be attended as part of the “Key Qualifications” module (2 CHW, 3 CP). The module examination is not taken as part of the above-mentioned lectures.

(Department of Journalism, Faculty 02 – Social Sciences, Media and Sport)
Students on the Master’s degree course in Journalism can choose three lectures from the Bachelor’s degree course in Political Science amounting to 6 CHW. One of the three lectures must be the lecture “Introduction to Political Science”; this is completed with a module examination (written exam).

Students on the Master’s degree program in Politics and Democracy Research can choose two courses from the Master’s degree program in Journalism or the Bachelor’s degree program in Audiovisual Publishing with a total of 4 CHW as part of elective module 9 “Professional Qualifications and Method Applications”.

Study module for social studies/politics as a “minor subject” in the Master of Education in Art (non-artistic minor subject): “Politics and political communication” (15 CP), consisting of:

  • Lecture BRD I (2 CP)
  • Seminar FRG II (4 CP)
  • Seminar in subject didactics (5 CP)
  • Module examination (4 CP)

The module examination takes the form of an oral examination (15 minutes) and is linked to the FRG lecture.
