Erasmus+ gives students the opportunity to study at a European university for one or two semesters in order to expand their social and cultural skills and improve their career prospects. They get to know the academic system of a foreign university as well as its teaching and learning methods. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

All 27 EU member states and six program countries outside the EU currently participate in Erasmus+: Iceland, Norway, North Macedonia, Liechtenstein, Serbia and Turkey. The United Kingdom is an Erasmus+ partner country. Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz currently has Erasmus+ contracts with around 350 universities in 31 of the participating countries. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

The partner university at which you can spend an Erasmus+ stay abroad depends on the Erasmus+ partnerships of your subject(s). The FORTHEM alliance brings together a new generation of creative minds who can collaborate across languages, borders and disciplines to tackle societal challenges and skills shortages in Europe. FORTHEM is a network of nine multidisciplinary public research universities with strong regional roots in Finland, France, Germany, Italy, Latvia, Norway, Poland, Romania and Spain. <\/p>\n\n\n\n \n<\/jgu-base-buttonitem>\n\n<\/jgu-base-button><\/div>\n\n\n\n

As an international center for research and teaching, Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz (JGU) has a special commitment to crossing the boundaries between nations and cultures. This commitment is established in its mission statement and its strategic concept, and is also reflected in its strong international relationships. JGU is globally networked in the areas of science aErasmusIncomingnErasmus<\/a>Outgoingd<\/a>research as well as learning and teaching. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The international work of its scientists is supported by a network of 145 cooperations with partner universities on all continents. We also count about 500 cooperations with European partner universities in the ERASMUS program. Our core regions for academic and student exchange include France and Poland in Europe, as well as the United States, South Korea, and China outside of Europe. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

JGU supports internationalization at all stages of qualification. For years now it has held a top position in European student and lecturer exchange, and also counts a high percentage of foreign students. Students in all courses of study may study abroad for one or two semesters, and JGU also offers courses of study in conjunction with foreign universities. With more than 650 courses conducted in languages other than German as well as numerous foreign language courses, Mainz University provides junior researchers with excellent preparation for the international job market. <\/p>\n\n\n\n \n<\/jgu-base-buttonitem>\n\n<\/jgu-base-buttonitem>\n\n<\/jgu-base-button>\n\n\n
