Germany is currently experiencing a rise in right-wing extremist tendencies and group-specific misanthropy. The polarization of the political climate has also reached the university. For this reason, the Institute of Political Science and the Political Science Student Council would like to take a clear stance here. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

We are expressly committed to the free and democratic basic order, to diversity and tolerance, and to equality for all. As stated in the resolution passed by the (University) Senate on December 5, 2008, JGU stands for “diversity, tolerance and humanity”. Discrimination on the basis of origin, skin color, sexual and gender identity, religious affiliation as well as physical and mental impairments have no place at our institute, because the university should be a space for safe teaching and learning. Extremist and radical aspirations are equally not tolerated. The Department of Political Science and the Student Representative Council for Political Science are therefore available as contact persons for all students who are affected by or observe such behavior in the university context in any form. This also applies if you have noticed recruitment or recruitment attempts by groups that represent such a world view.In such cases, you can contact the following persons confidentially: Prof. Dr. Kai Arzheimer (Vice Dean), Prof. Dr. Helen Callaghan (Institute Director), the Institute’s academic advisory office and the Political Science Student Council. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
